Get the Edge on Your Competition. This streamlined course is designed to help lending professionals understand the loan programs available to perform Energy Efficient Mortgages. This course targets the lenders who are so critical to guiding the financing decision that helps customers overcome the first cost barrier to installing energy efficiency improvements. This introductory green lending course helps lenders understand the types and value of energy efficiency and green loan products so you can increase your business by better serving your clients. Lenders and mortgage brokers learn how to offer those energy efficiency financing options and how to couple those with available rebates.


Roland Macias has been in the lending business since 1991. After graduating from UCLA with an Economics degree he worked in aerospace until he was introduced to mortgage lending. Roland worked in mortgage lending for years before he began to introduce the Energy Efficient Mortgage to his clients. He became interested in the EEM product after owning multifamily properties and listening to the tenants complain about the extreme heat and cold they were experiencing in building built prior to 1978.

He began his career in Energy Efficient lending by taking a sustainability courses at a local University and eventually earning his Building Analyst certification through the Building Performance Institute. The BPI building analyst certification help him fully understand the benefits of adding an EEM to a home borrowers loan. He has helped train hundreds of Realtors and has been a leading Energy Efficient Lender in the Southern California area. He has been a featured speaker many green training and has been interviewed by local news stations in the Southern California area. He looks forward to helping other Real Estate professionals understand the benefits of offering these great programs to their clients.
