Speaker

Katy Temple is an Emmy winner. Her first full-time, on-air job, was producing and hosting a coach's show with legendary college basketball coach, Jerry Tarkanian. She knew she was in for one heck of a ride. After covering all things sports in Fresno, California, including as a play by play announcer, Katy became the weekend sports anchor for XETV, channel 6 in San Diego. It was there that Katy honed her anchoring, storytelling, and relationship building skills covering the Chargers, Padres, Aztecs, Toreros, Gulls, and the great high school sports in the area.

From there, Katy went to Fox Sports South in Atlanta, to cover the myriad teams on the network, including the Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Memphis Grizzlies. But the bulk of Katy’s work came as the beat reporter and host of the Atlanta Braves pre-and post-games shows. Katy’s Spanish came in handy, especially with Latin American ballplayers who needed help getting their point (and their personalities) across. Her career has also taken her around the country for the NFL Network and internationally, for the Pan American Games in Argentina, as well as the Olympics in Barcelona (1992) and Vancouver (2010).

As a media personality, Katy has participated on various sports panels and mentored media hopefuls in broadcast school and privately. Katy played softball at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California and grew up in a sports-crazed family. Her favorite day of the year is her family’s Easter Golf Tournament.
